Description:
This Model 70 with SN 66993 was built around 1946 or 1947, with a 24" barrel and a factory drilled & tapped receiver for scope mounting. Gun is chambered for the 250-3000 savage round, and extremely hard to find in any condition. The metal on this rifle would rate 95% on the barrel and receiver, with a couple small marks on the underside of the barrel that are just blue loss,and not detectable to the feel (see pic.), and a little loss at the muzzle. Rifle retains 75-80% original blue on the floor plate and butt plate. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Bolt works smooth and is serial numbered to the rifle. Wood stock shows several blems to the surface and a few knicks. Checkering is sharp and stock doesn't have any cracks or repairs. Correct original butt plate looks good, and wood fits proud to the metal parts. This rifle has the correct original sight hood and sling swivels as well.
