Description:
Tanegashima Antique Japanese Matchlock muzzle loader rifle. Very collectable example of the rifles that were introduced during the time of the Samurai. I have not been able to identify the "Mon" crest on the top of the barrel behind the rear sight. There is a variety of silver inlays down the lenght of the barrel. I am NOT an expert in this type of firearm. I obtained it in a collection I purchased. The bore is slightly larger than 50 caliber.
When the Hammer Arm is cocked, it clicks into battery and is released when the Trigger is pulled. I've tried to take as many pictures of all aspects of this firearm. Some of the inlay is difficult to see in the pictures. If you have any questions please contact me.
