Piotti shotguns are considered Italian "BEST" guns and are equal to any double guns made in the world. Some say they even surpass a Purdey, though the same people have been called heretics as well! A full sidelock Holland style action, engraved by Italy's best, stocked to the fences, chopper lump barrels, factory leather case with accessories all combine to make a fine game or clays gun. This Piotti, sn9032 made in 1991, has exhibition custom ordered wood, gold shield in forend, blank gold shield in belly of stock, 27" barrels, 6lbs. 13oz., balanced on the hinge pin for dynamic handling, no case included.
Here are the details:
Barrels are 27" choked IC/LM (.009/.014), bore diameter .727 both barrels, minimum barrel wall thickness 28 thou right, 26 thou left, ribs tight and barrels chime, no pits or scratches, 99% blue, 2 3/4" chambers, no dents, as new in all respects
Full sidelock action with cocking indicators, perfect screws, 99% case color remains, engraved by G. Ranetti to perfection, strong well timed ejectors, crisp double triggers with 2.75lb. pull right, 5lbs. left, barrels tight on face and hinge pin as a new gun, all in perfect mechanical order.
The wood is delightful; rich deep brown color, no splits, chips, or cracks anywhere, no marks or scratches, full oil finished to perfection, English buttstock, splinter forend, excellent checkering, 14 5/8" LOP to checkered butt, 2 1/8" drop at heel, 1 7/16" drop at comb, 1/4" cast on. Stock can be easily bent to right hand cast off for $200 or less.
This is a gun that would cost $42,730 if ordered today at 2011 prices from William Larkin Moore. If you need a case for the gun we have several adequate cases available (used) that will protect and transport the gun well, or we can order a factory leather case for you for $1600 . This is a grand investment, and will continue to grow in value as the price of new guns like it increase. Buying a fine Piotti at 1/2 price is the way to go!
