Description:
SOLD S&W Registered Magnum, .357 Mag. revolver. This fine revolver was shipped to the Kansas City, MO police department marked to the attention of Jack K Ellis on Dec 16, 1936. It was ordered with a 5” barrel, McGivern front sight and deep U rear sight. It has standard Magna grips that are numbered to the gun. The significance of the barrel length and options is that this gun differs from the a number of Registered Magnums that were delivered to the KCPD which all had 6 ½” barrels. So this was either a revolver used for “show and tell” or it was special ordered for Mr. Ellis per his request. Regardless this revolver was carried during a very tumultuous time in KCPD history and mob activity in Kansas City. The is completely original and retains over 95% original finishes with light spots of surface rust showing and the grips are quite smooth on the right side. Mechanically perfect, bore perfect, accompanied by Roy Jinks factory letter.
