HAANDVAABENVAERKSTEDERNE, semi-automatic shotgun, Field model, Manufactured in Copenhagen, Denmark no later than 1909, 12 gauge (2 3/4"), s/n 20XX (all matching numbers), 28" plain barrel, Haandvaabenvaerkstederne translates as "Hand" hand, "Vaaben" gun or weapon, "vaerkstederne" workshops or factories. The gun was invented by Carl Sjogren who is also considered by many to have invented the first automatic firearm. Total production of this model was about 5000 guns, This early gun is really unusual in its form and function compared to modern European and American semi-autos. It is believed by some that Benelli used ideas contained in its basic System Sjogren inertial function when designing their inertially operated guns, EXCELLENT BORE, LOP 14 1/4" over Pachmyer pad, overall condition of wood and metal is Very Good plus, finish is 100% original, GREAT FOR A SERIOUS COLLECTOR OF RARE AND SCARCE SEMI-AUTOMATICS, Retail value $1500.00, Sale priced at $1195.00
