Description:
Magnificent Winchester 70 300 H&H Super Grade in near mint condition featuring the exceedingly scarce factory "sightless" configuration, which is very seldom seen, even amongst the vastly higher produced Standard grade model 70s. There has never been a front ramp installed, never a rear dovetail slot cut, and it has never been altered or re blued in any way. I doubt this rifle has ever seen the light of day, it is that pristine. The serial # and matching bolt indicate a 1949 production, the receiver retaining a very late clover leaf style tang. 99% Blue, 99% Varnish with only the faintest of marks on either. 26" barrel with excellent bore. Highly desirable oval pancake style cheek rest. "SUPER GRADE" stamped floor plate, factory swivels and steel butt plate all in new condition. It is highly unlikely that another rifle in this configuration and condition will be offered anytime soon, if ever. Don't let it get away!
