Description:
This is a high grade J. Specht Posen 16 gauge side by side underlever shotgun in good condition. The shotgun is similar to the Collath type shotgun. The Damascus barrels are 26 ¾” in length and measure .660 (L) and .663 (R). The bores have some pitting but are not dark. This shotgun has a bone trigger guard and underlever. There is extensive engraving on the receiver depicting a dog flushing birds, rabbits frolicking and a pheasant on the top of the receiver. The barrel has gold and silver painted flourishes and beautiful texturing. Please look closely at the pictures. There is a repair on the left barrel forward of the sling stud. There is a crown over R proof on the receiver and a Z-M proof-facility reproof stamp of 10.02. On the barrel just forward of the forearm, there is a patch of finish wear. Please look closely at the pictures. The stock and forearm are in good condition with numerous light dings and drags. There is a crack in the stock of unknown depth on the right side behind the trigger guard. The bone on the underlever has some chipping on the left side. The back edge of the trigger guard has some chips missing at the tang. Again, please look closely at the pictures. We will accept offers on this piece.
