Larry Harley Custom Handmade Knife
- 6.25" recurve blade with a file worked spine
- 11" total length
- 0.16" blade thickness
- Wootz Damascus steel forged by Larry Harley himself
- Guard has been forward canted
- Handle is fossil walrus ivory ( used as a fishing weight in the 1800s is how the hole at the butt was created
- Bolster is sculpted and textured mild steel
- Larry began this recurve knife by forging wootz, the pre-cursor to modern Damascus. The technique was lost for hundreds of years and has been re-discovered in the last decade. It involves using a crucible method and working out the impurities while forging results in the dramatic detailed criss cross of lines as seen in the steel
