Antique Prior WWI Period -WWII Dr.W.Gerard/Charlottenburg D (7.5 X magnification) commercial Rifle Scope with claw mounts and bases Condition:steel body of scope was cleaned from rust,polished and hand bluing,working mechanics:elevation and focusing. lenses with no scratches-sharp view,not typical for 100 or more years scope.(I think was made between 1900-1925). Scope has Reticle defect that you can see on not very good quality photo: reticle need correct with optic service specialist to centering. Dr.Walter Gerard produced optic instruments,binoculars and rifle scopes in Germany(Charlottenburg)prior to World War I for use on sporting,hunting and sniper rifles.With the onset of the war, Dr.Walter Gerard scopes, along with many other previously manufactured sporting rifle scopes, were adapted by the German Army for use on their Scharfschutzen-Gewehr 98 Sniping Rifles and Kar.98 All Dr.Walter Gerard scopes are scarce in the USA.
