We are offering for sale a very rare PRE-WAR Colt SUPER MATCH .38 caliber semi-automatic pistol. This pistol is extremely hard to find available for sale; Most are in personal collections already.THIS GUN IS FRESH TO THE MARKET, DIRECTLY OUT OF A MASSACHUSETTS ESTATE. This specific example rates 90% overall with some light handing wear.
Serial 201XX places this manufacture date in 1936, only two years after the gun was first produced in 1934. VERY EARLY EXAMPLE!!
5” match grade barrel is in very good condition with and excellent muzzle. Bore is generally bright and clean with some light freckling near muzzle. Slide shows some wear; light loss consistent with holstering. Fixed rear sight. Frame shows similar wear with some loss on the finger grip. Gun actions properly and appears in excellent working condition. Wooden grips shows strong checkering; 3/8” long closed crack on right side grip, from bottom to screw hole only. Factory two-tone Colt Super Match .38 magazine included.
