Description:
NSN, .577 Snider, 36 1/2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore that has strong rifling. This is an undated, almost unmarked rifle has an overall dull gray pewter patina mottled with smooth plum-brown throughout with evenly scattered areas of mild freckling and pinprick pitting along the barrel, receiver, and lock. There are no property markings on the receiver nor on the breech but there are some Nepali markings engraved into the brass trigger guard tang. The brass trigger guard and nosecap have a mild yellow-ochre patina throughout while the stock has a fairly thick added varnish over numerous minor handling marks and surface blemishes throughout as well as some with-the-grain cracks at the nosecap and opposite the lock at the rear screw bolster. The rifle comes with a well worn but still serviceable leather sling and an iron ramrod is included. The action lock-up is still quite tight and the lock is fully functional. This is a very nice Snider in about good-very good condition overall. Antique
