Description:
Serial #27640, 6.5x55mm Mauser, 24? barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a trace of freckling within the grooves. This is a Kongsberg-made, 1924 dated carbine that has retained 80-85% of the original blue finish with silvering and fading at the muzzle and along the high and projecting edges. The bolt is correct, but numbered to a different rifle and has an overall dull, pewter gray patina. The walnut stock and handguard are in fine shape with scattered minor handling marks and surface bruises scattered throughout, heaviest along the belly of the buttstock and surrounding the buttplate. This is a seldom seen Norwegian Krag that is still in very good-fine condition and would make both a great shooter (in a spectacular caliber), and a fine historical piece for any collection.
