Here is an ultra rare Winchester Lee Model Sporter Straight Pull rifle Serial# 134xx made around 1900! Caliber is .236 U.S.N. (U.S. Navy 6mm)There were only 1700 Sporters ever made and this is the finest looking example I have seen. The Bluing is nothing short of fantastic, given it's age, rating 95% or better. Wood has been lightly refinished but is nice work. Otherwise, the rifle is completely original and features the very interesting Lyman 25 receiver peep sight designed and created specifically for this model rifle. The sight alone is valued at well over $400 and features an ingenious pivoting aperture arm that moves out of the way as bolt is cycled. 24" barrel with very good bore, original front sight, steel butt plate, and composite pistol grip cap. Mechanics seem in perfect working order. Certainly one of the best of this model you will likely ever see at a VERY reasonable price. (Blue Book 95% is $2650)
