The market place for vintage American double shotguns has been vigorous over the past decade. Shooters, hunters, collectors, and investors have all recognized the value of fine shotguns that have been hand fitted by the old world craftsmen, used and preserved over the decades for our enjoyment today. What makes these guns such fine investments hinges around the quantity made (rarity), the amount of decoration (high grades), condition, and the desirability of features. The NID was the last model of Ithaca double shotguns offered before WWII and is popular with collectors. This NID, in the very coveted serial number range of 500493, is the ultra rare Ithaca 12ga. Magnum. Total production of this gun was 87 GUNS IN ALL GRADES, WITH ONLY 14 MADE IN GRADE 4! This gun has all of the above qualities creating true value in a gun that is made to use. The factory 3" chamber combined with a barrel lug that comes through the bottom of the receiver for added strength created a gun that can shoot heavy loads and reach out for waterfowl, pheasants, and turkey. It is equally useful for high volume shooting at the clays course, doves, or pigeons. Untouched factory condition with gorgeous wood and engraving, this is a must have Vintage American Double.
