Description: Inv. 5252 Marlin Model 27s. Caliber .32-20, Serial Number NSN Awesome, truly awesome condition, a great caliber, and a scarce model, what else can you ask for. The gun is at least 99+% original factory blue. The is two or three small surface scratches on the top right rear of the receiver, a slight rub mark from the safety and the ever present rub on the operating rod. This octagon barreled Closet Queen doesn't even have silvering on the sharp edges of the barrel. The frame has, if anything just vaguest edge silvering. The barrel and the loading tube assembly are as factory new. As is the trigger group and the upper and lower tangs. The screw heads are correct and unmarred. The Marlin buttplate and screws are immaculate. The walnut forearm is flawless, the buttstock does show a few light surface dings and scratches. The front sight still retains the original Marlin ivory bead. The rear barrel sight is as factory new as almost all metal parts are. Also fitted is a Marlin special order windage and elevation tang sight with 3/4 inch reticle, also as new. The bore is razor sharp, mirror bright with no trace of use. The owner probably ran a dozen cartridges thru this gun and carefully put it away. Then it was taken care of for almost 100 years for almost a hundred years like the families favorite pet. A genuine Marlin center piece to be proud of for the critical collector....$2495.
