Description:
A Greener 12 gauge hammer gun, serial number 24552, with rebounding locks (Hand-Made 16 Guinea Quality) is offered. It is cased with a full compliment of W. W. Greener tools and the correct Greener oil bottle. The barrels are 30 inch stub twist, choked full and full and are marked on the rib "68 Haymarket, London, S W, Winner at London Trials 1875, 77, 78, 79". The chambers are 2 3/4". The bores are excellent. On the top lever are the words "Far Killing Duck Gun". The gun was made in the latter part of 1881 (the first year of the publication of Greener's "The Gun and Its Development"). The length of pull is 14 3/8 to a checkered hard rubber pad (small chip on left side). Drop at heel is 2 15/16" and at comb is 1 3/4". The oak and leather case has a canvas outer cover which still bears the remnants of two White Star Line baggage stickers. The White Star Line began in 1849 with the 879 ton Iowa, and ended with the last liner Britannia, which left New York Nov. 25, 1960. Their most famous ship was the Titanic, which sank April 15, 1912. This is a fine shotgun with a bit of very interesting history. FREE SHIPPING FOR FATHERS DAY.
