Description:
This is a 5-digit serial numbered 97 that just misses the antique serial range. A very good cond gun for its age. Still quite a bit of blue remaining on the receiver. Bbl has even more blue with a faded area about 6" from the muzzle. Good clean smooth metal. Good markings. Bright shiny bore with just a couple light pitting spots and some roughness. Overall bore is good to VG. This 97 has some fancy wood with a pretty tiger stripe pattern. Butt stock is in very nice cond with a very small hairline crack coming off the toe area. Nice fitting throughout the wrist area. This is the early correct round knob style stock. Forearm is VG cond with one light crack coming off the front. No losses and is solid. Action works very well. A good old Winchester!
