COLT HARTFORD, CT.). All matching serial numbers and 100% original with wedge and it’s screw old field replacements. Fine dark patina overall. Good markings with crisp barrel address and “COLT/PATENT” stamp. Original factory walnut grips with light wear. Mellow brass. Working order and good bore and chambers. Has seen service and is lightly worn overall. Butt strap etched in old hand done script with the name and date “F. BEASLEY 1874”. Factory letter states that it was shipped January 11, 1861 to the Colt Office at 240 Broadway, New York City as part of a 100 gun shipment. It should be noted that Colt was shipping many of these to the New York Office where sales agents for the Southern States were buying all the guns they could prior to the outbreak of the War.
