Description:
The Dakota revolver serial number series supposedly started at 50,000, and this gun is 52172,and only a couple of thousand were made in the initial run. The model was built in Switzerland, by Hammerli, and then, in Italy, by Hammerli-Jager. By 1972, Hammerli ceased making the Dakota, when they were contracted by Interarms to make the Virginian revolver. The Hammerli marked Dakota variant was existent from 1966 to 1972, with early models made with brass trigger guard.Possibly made by Uberti for Interarms were the later production. This model has a gold Colt factory hammer, and locks up tight.No cylinder wobble or play. The 7 1/2" barrel has a clean bore. The frame is color case hardened, and the bluing is about 90% with one area of wear on the cylinder, and a couple spots of wear on the front of the ejector tube from being holstered.
