Merkel shotguns made in Suhl Germany demonstrate the famous German engineering, with strength and function always foremost in the design. The 147E is a graceful, lightweight game gun utilizing the Greener Crossbolt top fastener in conjunction with the traditional double underlug fasteners to give incredible strength and durability to this handsome double gun. The 147E is the hand engraved, deep chiseled, game scene engraved Merkel, with Holland & Holland style ejectors, and high grade Turkish walnut stocks. Manufacturers suggested retail price of $7499 makes this a mid priced double shotgun, and this one can be had at a fraction of retail cost. Made in 2004 and remaining in near new condition, it has better wood than most others I have seen and is adorned with the pistol grip stock, 28" IC/M fixed chokes, and optional single selective trigger. Weighing 6lbs. 14oz. and balanced dead on the hinge pin, this is a dynamic handling shotgun for your upland hunts or sporting clays. Priced to sell and destined to give you enjoyment for generations, it would be hard to find a better modern day double gun value.
