For sale is a George C. Nonte commemorative Colt Commander. Only 200 of these were produced in the late 70's in honor of George Nonte. These were produced by Trapper Gun and are highly customized. Some of the features include:
Refitted barrel with micro bushings and throated for semi-wadcutters
Tightening of slide to frame and lapping-in for smooth operation
Professionally tuned action with 4-4.5lb trigger
Trapper low profile rib with S&W adjustable rear sight
Relieved ejection port
Modified frame with hooded trigger guard, memory grooves and bevelled mag well
Scalloped Grip Safety
Trapper Blue Ebony finish
24K gold plating to hammer, trigger, safety, slide release and all screws and pins
Indian stag horn stocks
Custom engraving
The handgun comes with custom gold plated bushing wrench and leather wrapped display case. We have all the original paperwork including documentation from Trapper Gun, sales receipt and publications related to the firearm. A fully documented highly customized commemorative firearm.
What you need to be aware of is that the firearm belonged to a collector who lived ocean front in California. Salt water is not the best companion for a firearm and the salt air has made some impact on the firearm. The gold plating on the slide release and safety shows some pitting as does the grip screws. The custom ebony finish is largely intact with one small spot just above the trigger guard on the right side. Pictures have been included that provide detail of the blemishes.
