S# 118400, 45-70, 26 inch barrel, very good bore with strong rifling and light frosting throughout This beautiful 1886 has many special order features including 1/2 Octagon, checkered stock, pistol grip, Lyman Front, leaf and rear sights, 1/2 magazine, shotgun rubber butt, takedown , and oil finish, these are all listed in the Cody zip sheet. Left side of lower tang is stamped 1XXR. Barrel, mag tube and receiver retains about 40% blue with scattered light stains and silvering. Lever shows traces of case colors with silvering on balance. Wood shows typical shrinkage issues seen with fancy grain, butt is slightly rounded at toe, that area was probably refinished long ago. The flame grain on butstock shows age checks. The original hard rubber butplate shows wear with no chips or cracks. This is a very unusual deluxe 1886 with ten special order features. Antique
