Description:
Colt Model 1877 "Thunderer" DA Revolver (Also known as the "Storekeeper" or "Sheriff"model) - Cal. .41 CF - 2 1/2" Bbl. - SN48XXX (1884). Absolutely perfect bore and action with excellent timing and lock-up. Metal is excellent with no rust, pits, corrosion, or spotting - Barrel and cylinder retain 95% to 98% blue with slight thinning on trigger guard and backstrap and around the "Colt DA .41" etching on the barrel which is faint, but visible. The frame retains about 95% bright case color with the only fading on top of the frame. Pearl grips may not be original to the revolver, but look to be period grips - they are undamaged with a very attractive pattern and are a very good but not perfect fit. Except for possibly the grips, this "Thunderer" is all original and untouched and is in near "mint" condition - extremely hard tp find with this much original finish and case color in the scarce 2 1/2" barrel - a favorite pocket revolver in the early West, especially in the ..41 caliber. A super addition to any quality Colt or Old West collection.l
