(Pete) Grisel, Gunmaker, Bend, Oregon: A Pete Grisel Custom 30-06 on a Springfield Action, 24" barrel, Clean barrel without open sights, Redfield 1 piece scope base with Leupold 1" rings, 3 x 9 Leupold scope, Up & down 2-position bolt sleeve safety, Timney trigger, A Grisel hinged floorplate with a center bow release, Profiled bolt handle for scope use, A Pete Grisel classic stock using a nice piece of fiddleback Bastogne Walnut, Shadowline cheekpiece, Point pattern checkering, Sling eyes on the stock, Fisher steel grip cap, 8 lbs. 12 oz. with the scope, 13 7/8" LOP over a 3/4" pad, Very nice wood with nice color & contrast, The original satin blue overall remains at 99%, The original stock finish is at 99% with a few light marks, The checkering remains at 100%, The bore is new, The piece has not been used or ever hunted, The overall classic style, fit, finish, inletting, execution, handling and proper dimensions are superb in every respect. ////////////////////////////// Pete Grisel co-founded Dakota Arms in 1986, and was a founding member of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild. He built a lot of custom rifles. He built several total custom bolt rifles using his own proprietary action that he machined in his shop. Grisel designed the Dakota 76 action and built some of Dakota's early guns with full cooperation of Don Allen. He retired from gunmaking in 2006.
