Description:
Receiver, brass buttplate and brass nosecap have turned a pleasing mustard patina. Fitted with what appears to be factory sling eyes. Rear sling eye is 5 1/4" from toe of buttplate. Wood has usual age darkening and remains free of cracks. Barrel and magazine tube have turned brown patina throughout. Magazine tube is free of dents. Bore is pitted throughout with strong rifling and an insignificant bulge 4 1/2' from the muzzle. Sights have been frontier gunsmithed with handmade brass notch on rear sight slide. Front sight is a hand filed brass Rocky Mountain blade and fitted to original base. Receiver screws have been turned showing some disfiguring. Mechanical function is excellent. A true piece of American firearms history.
