Description:
Serial #469 (Sequoia #311), .30-06, 24” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is one of only 1000 rifles imported into the U.S. by Sequoia Importing Co. during the 1920s (no. 311 of 1000), and retains 97-98% of the original rich, commercial blue finish. The bolt, likewise, has about 90-95% of the original blue remaining with some streaks of gray on the bearing surfaces. In addition to the original rear barrel sight, a Lyman receiver sight is also installed. The pre-war Austrian proofs and factory markings are crisp and sharp, and the tangent rear sight slider retains 95-97% of the original bright fire blue. The rifle has a period, custom-crafted walnut stock with wide, comfortable, hand-filling forend and pistol grip, and only a handful of minor handling marks and small surface blemishes scattered about the rich, brown oil finish. The rifle is equipped with original sling swivels, and has a 14” length of pull to a grooved metal buttplate that has traces of original blue remaining. This is an excellent example of a very rare Mannlicher-Schoenauer sporting rifle and would make a fantastic addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
