Carl Gustafs (Sweden), bolt action rifle, Model 1896/38 ("Short rifle"), caliber 6.5 X 55 Swede, s/n 636XX Mfg. 1900), ALL MATCHING NUMBERS INCLUDING BARREL BAND, BOLT RELEASE LEVER, FIRING PIN, ETC., ETC., one of about 30,000 model 96's arsenal shortened around 1938 to resemble the 38 short rifle, RIFLE EQUIPPED WITH MUZZLE GUARD, FRONT SIGHT SHADE, AND SLING, bore is BRIGHT WITH SHARP RIFLING, metal retains virtually all of its finish on action and trigger guard and most of it on exposed portion of barrel, wood retains all of finish and is PERFECT (no nicks, dings, or scratches), A GENUINE SURVIVOR, THIS AMAZING RIFLE HAD TO BE A SAFE QUEEN TO SURVIVE THIS NICE FOR OVER 100 YEARS, NONE NICER, Retail value $1500.00, Sale priced at $1195.00
