This is a beautiful example of a U.S.Cavalry 1860 .44 Colt Blackpowder Revolver. The gun is 13 5/8 inches overall, weighs 2 Lbs. 10 Oz and has perfect balance. All engraving is in 24K gold, including the Trigger Guard (Over Solid Brass). The Ramrod operates perfectly.
The handgrips are authentic Deer Antler which has a great touch.
President Lincoln and Samuel Colt presented especially fine examples of the sidearm to American Soldiers as well as heads of statesuch as to the Kings of Sweden and Denmark as well as to other European and Near-Eastern royalty. This weapon has been fired only one time by the manufacturer just prior to shipping to me in the Mid-80s.
