Model 1850 Staff and field officer swords with sharply curved blades and iron scabbards were produced on a limited basis for Mounted Staff Officers. These are standard Model 1850 Staff & Field swords in every respect except the sharply curved blade and the iron scabbard made especially to accept this curved blade. Features are the standard half basket guard with openwork U.S., Sharkskin grip with Dragoon twist wire and two flanking strands. The flat back blade is beautifully etched with the maker's address, foliage, stands of arms and military trophies. The scabbard is iron, browned and with brass mounts.
