The best I have owned or offered for sale, here is an outstanding Winchester Model 70 in the ULTRA RARE 300 Savage caliber!! Surely among the finest to be offered in many years, this rifle is in fantastic shape overall. The original bluing is rated at 98% including excellent bottom metal and butt plate. Wood is likewise in similar condition with only minor handling marks. Serial# is 81xxx making this an even scarcer "transition" model made in 1948. Has the most desirable clover leaf tang and clam shell safety combination found only on a handful of rifles made during this brief period. 24" barrel with excellent bore. Factory sights and swivels includes correct 4 step elevator. If you have been holding out for the right one of these to come along...this may be it.
