Description:
Civil War Colt 1851 Navy Revolver - US Martial - Cal. 36 - 7 1/2" Bbl. - SN 50XXX (1856) - all matching numbers, including wedge - Bore shows some spots of roughness and corrosion, but has sharp rifling - action is perfect with excellent timing and lock-up. Metal is about excellent overall with no rust or corrosion and has sharp markings, including the "US" on the frame and all sub-inspectors stamps - barrel and cylinder have thinned to a mostly brownish patina with splashes of blue visible - cylinder shows some light dings and dents and scene is only partially visible - loading lever and frame colors have drifted to a mottled gray patina and frame has a few areas of minor light surface spotting or "pin-pricks" just above the trigger plate. - brass has a ice mellow tone and has not been polished. Grips are excellent and undamaged except for a few dings and scrapes, mostly on the left side - cartouchr has been worn off - about 85% finish remains. Overall, a very nice and all original early US Martial 1851 Navy in about Fine condition that will make a nice addition to a Civil Way or early Colt collection.
