SN21661 - with fitted holster. About 11,000 of these were ordered by the US Gov't early in the war and many were ordered by the Confederacy just prior to and at the start of the war - a popular and desirable sidearm used by both sides and especially favored by officers. Bore is near perfect with no rust, pits, or corrosion and is bright with sharp rifling - action is excellent with perfect timing and lock-up. Metal is excellent overall with no corrosion or pitting. - sharp markings and crisp "LF" stamp and logo on the frame. Barrel and cylinder retain about 60% blue with thinning and some light spotting - frame has about 65% blue . Grips are undamaged with the scalloped steel buttplate and lanyard ring and retain about 85% finish. The fitted holster is apparently original to the revolver and is in VG condition with tight seams and good leather - shows some wear mostly in the flap area and a worn-through spot on the back from the trigger guard and is missing the flap retainer post. An all oruginal early Civil War LeFaucheux revolver in the proper contract range in Fine + condition with fitted holster. A scarce and hard to find CW sidearm that will make a very nice collectible.
