Description:
This is an early smith & wesson in 38 S&W action is crisp timming is correct. This is engraved in early english script on the back strap . AM ex Co 270. is also an early 3rd model. the factory only produced 934 with over half going to Hartley & Grahm in NYC...... the bore is bright and shiny with good rifeling.
the finish retains 99% original nickle with light scattered freckling stains. the grips are near perfect and are plastic with S&W monogram . American Dxpress company started in 1850 by Henry wells and a partner. they formed a delivery service of small parcels and and national bank securitys. Later they added
american express travelers checks in 1890..........these S&W were used to protect the deliverys of the day..........this is a fine example circa is 1884.............is antique ships to your front door .......
