Description:
Parker DHE 16 Gauge SxS Shotgun
"O" Frame, 6 1/4LBS., NICE CLEAN GUN

General Specs: Parker, Year 1925, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 4oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 207627

Many are aware that Parker numbered its frames  and that certain sized frames were  assigned to a particular gauge gun.  12 gauge guns were most often on a #2 frame, sometimes a #1 1/2 frame, 16ga. guns were on a #1 frame, 20ga. guns were on a #0 frame, 10ga. guns on a #3 frame or larger...you get the idea.  Most do not know what these numbers refer to.  The frame sizes refer to the distance between the centers of the firing pin holes, ie the "O" frame is 1" between centers.  Each full number indicates an added or subtracted 1/16" between the holes, ie the #1 frame is  1 1/16" between the centers of the firing pin holes, the #2 frame 1 1/8" between the holes.  What this adds up to is the larger frames matched to larger barrels equaled heavier guns.  Parker guns are a bit heavy per gauge, GENERALLY SPEAKING, most often weighing in the realm of     6 3/4lbs. when looking at the 16ga. on a #1 frame.  Parker made a small percentage of 16ga. guns on the 20ga. frame...the coveted 16ga. Parker on an "O" frame.  These were special order guns, purpose built to carry all day over hill and dale in pursuit of upland game.  So few exist that there is always a premium to be paid when one is found.  There were many more made in the VH Grade, and finding a DHE 16ga. on an "O" frame is a tough task.  This DHE, sn207627 made in 1925, is one of those guns.  Weighing just
6 1/4lbs. and balanced to perfection 1/8" ahead of the hinge pin, this gun is in awesome, unmolested condition.  Examine the photos closely...wood to metal fit, screws, wood finish, checkering is all excellent and unaltered.  The engraving from this era is superior to other times, with more detail in the dogs and more background foliage.  This is a great gun.  The mechanics of the gun are excellent, with strong ejectors, lots of wall thickness, excellent bores...what's not to like?  A great investment that you can enjoy chasing birds or breaking clays.  Thanks for looking.  P.S.  If you are a tall guy and want a new stock put on this gun, we can do it to Parker perfection within 6 months of purchase!
