This is a 1918 dated receiver and barrel, Enfield-made rifle that has matching numbers on the bolt and nosecap (arsenal renumbered) and retains 90% plus of an armory re-applied blue finish that has left the markings still crisp and clearly defined and blends smoothly with the traces of plum-brown patina starting to appear along some of the high edges and projections. The bolt has a No. 4 cocking-piece and there is are some small import marks on the left side of the receiver. There is some gray fading and silvering present on the bearing surfaces of the bolt and on the handle, while the magazine (numbered to the rifle on the bottom) has started to acquire a plum-brown patina overall. The walnut and handguards are refinished to fine shape and have an armory added oil finish with some minor handling marks and small blemishes including a repaired crack on the top of the rear guard. The rifle comes with a khaki canvassling, and rates very good plus-near fine condition overall.
