This is a Kongsberg-made, 1916 dated carbine that has retained 85-90% of the arsenal re-applied matte blue finish with silvering and fading at the muzzle and along the high and projecting edges. The bolt is correct, but numbered to a different rifle and has a commensurate amount of matching blue remaining with silvering along the bearing surfaces. The matching numbered walnut stock and handguard are in fine shape with scattered minor handling marks and surface bruises scattered throughout, heaviest along the belly of the buttstock and surrounding the buttplate, under an additional arsenal applied finish (all markings and stamps are still crisp and clear). There is a with-the-grain crack along the top of the handguard that runs from the rear sight to just beyond the long range sight stud, but it is stable ad does not flex. These Norwegian Krags are not often encountered and this example is in fine condition as arsenal refurbished, and would make both a great shooter (in a spectacular caliber), and a fine historical piece for any collection.
