This is a 6.6 dated pistol (June, 1931) by Tokyo Arsenal that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel/receiver, trigger guard, trigger, and magazine release (the bolt and locking block are numbered to different guns). The metal retains 92-95% of the original blue finish that has slight silvering along the exposed edges and muzzle; some mild freckling along the gripstraps, and some further mild freckling along the sides of the frame. Some of the original straw color remains on the trigger and safety with the balance turned to a bright gray patina. The unnumbered, grooved wooden grips are in fine shape with very few handling marks or blemishes marring the added, slightly glossy varnish. The pistol is housed in an original dark brown leather holster that has post-war added serial number (21498) and Tokyo Arsenal marking on the back between the brass strap loops, and fine and supple original leather. The pistol comes with two correct, uncut magazines, and an original cleaning rod. This is a splendid pre-war Type 14 in fine condition, and would make a nice addition to any World War II Japanese collection.
