Description: This is a pre-Custer 1873 Springfield Trapdoor rifle that was made in 1875. The bore is quite good but not perfect. The walnut stock has a faint cartouche that can't be read. Some finish has been added to the stock but it does not look like it has been sanded at all. The metal is a dark blue-black with some patina. All in all a very nice antique piece of history.
