Description:
This is the real deal. An authentic Sharps 1874 with 30" medium weight oct bbl in cal 45-70. Markings on the bbl are "Sharps Rifle Company" and "Bridgeport CT". It does have "Old Reliable" stamping. Equipped with Rocky Mtn blade style front sight, ladder rear sight and one of the many variations of the Vernier tang sight. This rifle has nice smooth metal. Receiver is pretty much a deep grey color. Bbl has quite a bit of blue that is some spots of thinning but overall good cond. Good markings. Bore is exceptional and would be in the near excellent range. Buttstock is VG cond. Nice fitting to frame and tangs. Buttplate has a little shrinkage and wood is slightly shy. Buttstock appears to have gotten wet at some time and some of the finish is gone. Forearm is VG with one light crack from screw to frame. Action is VG. Solid with good hammer and trigger springs. This is a nice rifle!
