Description:
SALE PENDING This is a nearly impossible to find BIG Vintage LC Smith Ideal Grade 10 gauge with fluid steel barrels.  Serial Number is R9865 and the year of manufacture is 1919.  According to Houchin's LC Smith book, there were only 153 10 gauge Ideal grades ever produced.  This particular example remains in excellent condition with strong traces or original case color. Fine original trigger guard blue.  The barrels are 32" choked extra full and extra full with bright bores and excellent original blue.  Chamber length is 2 7/8".  The original stock is also excellent showing signs of a light refinish. Seldom seen Curtis for end release with ebony tip.  There is slight play in the forend but is mechanically sound.  There is a small nearly undetectable chip repair to the right of the safety.  Original grip cap and butt plate.  The original butt plate has a professionally done crack repair that is also nearly undetectable.  It is an extractor double trigger shotgun.  The dimensions are Length of pull 13 7/8 from front trigger over the original hard rubber butt.  Drop at heel is 3 inches and drop at comb is 1 3/4.  Weight is 10 pounds 8 ounces.  Thisis a great and rare vintage BIG LC 10 gauge that is ready for the field.
