CUSTOM BALLARD LONG RANGE .45-100 CAL. A-1 RIFLE SIGNED P.L. SANDERS CA. 1995. Superb quality and condition. 32” part octagon, part round barrel signed under the forend “P. L. SANDERS/95”. Phil "Blue Jacket" Sanders was a very prolific Gunmaker/Gunsmith well known in Montana for his craftsmanship in wood & inlay work, engraving and gunmaking and tomahawks. He was a three time "Boushway" at the National Rendevous, in the late 1960's. The "Blue Jacket Founders Match" at the rendevouz muzzleloading matches of the NRLHF events. He worked for Green River Rifle Works(GRRW). Sadly he passed away in 2012. This rifle was custom ordered by Henry Rudkin, famous gun collector and heir to the Pepperidge Farm Bread Co. Fancy walnut stock and forend with horn forend cap. Checkered hard rubber butt plate. Long range Vernier Tang sight with extra heel mounted base. Spirit level, globe insert front sight. Case hardened and engraved “LONG RANGE” frame. Very near mint with 100% blue and case colors. Mint bore. Looks unused. Fabulous custom work.
