Description:
Browning Superposed 20 Gauge O/U Shotgun
SUPERLIGHT, PRESENTATION, 2 BARRELS, CASED

General Specs: Belgium, Browning, Year 1978, 20 Gauge, 1=5lbs 11oz; 2=5lbs 10oz, O/U
Serial Number: P24RP1231

The demand for the Superposed O/U never ceased and after the rough road of the early 1970's and several corporate changes, the Presentation Era of the Superposed came to be in 1977 and ran through 1984.  Earlier, in 1969, Browning introduced the Superposed "SUPERLIGHT" in the 20ga. and finally was born a righteous Superposed upland bird gun.  A typical Browning Lightning 20ga. weighs about 6 1/2lbs.  At 5lbs. 11oz. and balanced dead on the hinge pin, this 20 bore Superlight is 3/4lbs. lighter!  This is a truly dynamic upland bird gun, with its straight hand stock, rounded frame, and schnabel forend that can be carried all day without fatigue.  This gun, snP24RP1231 is in 99%+ factory original condition!   Built in 1978, it is one of only 80 total 20ga. P1 Presentation Superlight guns made between 1977 and 1984.  Most all P1 guns were acid etched engraved, not hand engraved like all the earlier Superposed guns.  A few of the early guns were hand engraved and signed by the engraver.  Jose' Baerten became FN's Master Engraver in 1977, and engraved this gun in 1978 and is signed by his hand.  The burl figured Turkish walnut has the hand rubbed oil finish and has perfect checkering.  The gun was special ordered as a P1H, showing a blue receiver with 4 raised gold sculpted quail inlaid on the right and left side of the receiver, and as a 2 barrel set with the factory hard case.  Highly desired by upland hunters and collectors that are in the know makes this Superlight a grand investment opportunity.  The gun has been shot a few times, so no sin enjoying its use as it increases in value.  This is an opportunity to own a great Browning.
