Boy did we miss on this one. That is the great thing about the inernet - when you have a bad description you can usually count on a expert to advise the correct information. What we thought was an 1869 Cadet Rifle is actually as follows:
A shortened 1866 .50-70 cal. Trapdoor Rifle in an 1873 Stock. Bore is excellent, stock is excellent, a very handsome rifle which although not original would make an excellent shooter or rifle for a re-enactor. Just look at the photos. I am also told it is a valuable rifle for just parts. Apparently there were several firms, including Bannerman's in New York who put rifles together from parts on hand and this is probably one of those rifles. Please note the price has been significantly reduced due to this new information about the rifle. OPEN 7 DAYS PER WEEK.
