Springfield Armory Model 1911 Semi Auto Pistol. serial # 114983, cal. 45 A.C.P., with a 5” barrel marked SP on the lugs and a very good bore that’s bright & strong. The metal surfaces retain about 50%+ fading blue/brown patina finish with graying on both front and rear straps, standard markings on slide & frame. The right side of the slide displays a light Eagle stamp. There are areas of scattered pinprick pitting on the slide and frame but nothing drastic or alarming. The following parts are “S”-stamped: barrel, firing pin stop, trigger, thumb safety, hammer, slide stop, sear, magazine catch, mainspring housing, extractor and grip safety. Mainspring housing is fitted with lanyard ring. The diamond checkered walnut grips have 14 diamonds between the large ones they also show wear with points flattened and a crack running from the bottom diamond to the screw on the left grip. Pistol comes with one original Colt Type III lanyard loop 7 rnd magazine. This piece will definitely look good in your collection as it displays well and appears as a piece that’s been there done its job and returned, just wish it could talk.
