Full length 42” barrel, 69cal but unfortunately the full stock has been cut back to half-stock length for use as a trade gun to homesteaders and Indians during the Western Expansion. This practice was quite common for these obsolete long guns, as they made useful game guns and could be used as a shotgun or a solid ball shooter. They were reliable and cheap and thousands were sold between 1850-1890. What this one has going for it is that it is still the full length barrel and that barrel could be swapped out for a cut barrel in a full stocked gun, thus making both guns better! As it is, it is “About Good” condition …but a cheap and historic wall hanger! $295 SOLD Antique: Yes |
