Description:
Serial #51260, .32 RF, 6” octagon barrel with a very good bore that has light freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome, factory star marked revolver that has matching assembly numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel and retains about 85-90% of a factory re-applied nickel finish that has worn slightly along the outside of the cylinder and freckled along the sides of the barrel. Some of the factory markings are soft, but still legible, however the assembly marks (“xx10”), applied to protected areas, are all still crisp and clear. The hammer and trigger have also been nickel plated, and the barrel lock-up is still fairly tight, but with some lateral play. The rosewood grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and have much of the original piano varnish remaining with some flaking and minor surface blemishes on both panels. There is a factory service date under the grips on the left side of July, 1916, which gives some indication of when the revolver was refinished. The mechanism functions flawlessly and the revolver rates fine condition overall. The gun is housed in a wonderful period leather “Slim Jim” style flap holster that has only minor scuffing and surface wear present on the thin, but still intact and supple original leather. The only real damage is the missing closure stud, but the body of the holster has conformed to the revolver admirably This is a great No. 2 set with a terrific piece of authentic, period gun leather.
