Civil War Colt Model 1862 Police Revolver - rare factory SILVER finish - - Cal. .36 - 6" bbl. - SN - 28XXX91864) - all matching numbers, on the barrel, cylinder, frame and cylinder pin except wedge. Bore is excellent - bright and shiny with sharp rifling and only a few very minor areas of roughness - action is excellent with perfect timing and lock-up. Retains about 75% of the original Special Order SILVER finish with no rust, pits, or corrosion on barrel or frame - silver is naturally tarnished, but has never been rubbed or polished - cylinder has driifed to a silver-brown patina from firing and powder flash - brass guard and back strap are a very attractive mellow tone - all markings are sharp and clear. Grips are excellent, undamaged and retain 95 % finish. This is a very crisp and all original 1862 Police from the Civil War era with the very scarce factory silver finish and with the desirable 6" barrel in Excellent condition that will be a fine addition to any Colt or Civil War collection.
