Description:
This is a brown leather box with embossed “US” on the cover and “R.I.A./1910./E.J.”, on the back between the belt loops. The wooden block with spaces for twelve .38 Colt cartridges is still present and intact while the leather exhibits some mild crazing and flaking along the flex points and belt loops. The top of the cover is unit marked with “B/3-F'ld Art.” (Battery B, 3rd Field Artillery) and an armorer's inventory number (“135”). This is a great piece of U.S. militaria with an unusual but desirable unit marking.
