The Marlin Model 39 is a lever-action .22 rimfire rifle, manufactured by Marlin between 1921 and 1937. Those model 39s with the "HS" prefix in their serial number were redesigned to handle the higher pressures of the more modern .22 Long Rifle cartridge. This example carries the "HS" prefix.
