Description:
Marked on top of the trapdoor is "Model 1881". Serial number is 675. Approximately 1,000 of these were manufactured. All have a carbine style trigger guard and half stock. Generally VG condition with a plum/brown patina to the bbl. Nice bore. Lock plate shows traces of case color with the balance turning dark. It has the "US" marking on the nickel plated buttplate with a fair amount of nickel remaining. Overall wood is generally VG; very lightly cleaned with a light coat of varnish added. Very scarce little item.
